Terms and Conditions of E-Bike Hire
To hire bikes, availability must be confirmed by Hadrian Cycling Ltd (HCL). A deposit of £15 per bike must then be made whereby the bikes will then be considered booked.
Photo ID (passport or driving licence) must be shown upon collection of the bikes. For hire durations of less than one week photo ID must be left with HCL. Photo ID will be returned upon completion of hire subject to satisfactory inspection of bikes and equipment by HCL.
A credit /debit card deposit of £100 per bike will be taken on collection of hire bikes. This will be returned on completion of hire subject to satisfactory inspection of bikes and equipment by HCL.
Bikes are supplied with helmet, lock and key and puncture repair kit.
If bikes are left they must be secured to a fixed object by the lock supplied through the frame and back wheel. The front wheel must be secured using the supplied cable.
Loss of or damage to equipment will incur a charge or loss of deposit.
Loss of an unsecured bike will incur a charge to the full value of the bike.
Bikes hired for more than one day will be supplied with a charger and battery key which must be returned or a charge will be incurred. Batteries must be taken out overnight (multiday hires).
Bikes must not be left locked up for more than 12 hours at one time unless in a place of residency or temporary residency.
E bikes must not be ridden through deep water. Bikes must not be ridden over jumps or highly technical terrain.
Bikes must not be lent to anyone not listed on the agreement.
The hirer understands there are inherent risks in cycling and accept all responsibility for their actions or the results thereof.
The hirer must notify HCL of any damage or concerns upon inspection before taking bikes on hire.
Any damage /loss caused during a hire period must be reported to HCL.
Theft of a bike or equipment must be reported to both HCL and the police immediately. A crime number must be obtained and given to HCL immediately. Failure to do so may result in HCL taking action to recover the cost of the bike /equipment.
A charge may be incurred should the bikes not be returned on time. If you think you will be late inform HCL as soon as possible. The hirer is assumed to be fit enough to ride the bike. Rescue by HCL due to the inability of the hirer to complete their ride may incur a reasonable charge.
E bikes can only be hired to people 14 years or older. Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
HCL reserve the right to refuse hire to anyone deemed unsuitable or at risk should hire go ahead.
Cancellations less than 48 hours before commencement of hire will result in the loss of the deposit although HCL will try to find an alternative date for hire where possible.
HCL do not accept responsibility for death, personal injury, loss or damage to persons or property relating to the hire of our equipment.
All bikes and equipment remain the property of HCL.
Terms and Conditions of tour bookings
Guided tours
Bookings for cycle tours require a deposit of £20 per person upon receipt of which confirmation of the booking will be sent.
Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations less than 48 hours before the day of the tour although Hadrian Cycling Ltd (HCL) will try to offer an alternative date subject to availability of bikes and guide.
Bikes must be checked by the rider. By taking the bike you acknowledge that it is in a safe and satisfactory condition.
It is the responsibility of anyone taking a tour to ensure they are capable of riding the bike in a safe and responsible manner. HCL are not liable for any incident/accident that may occur which is outside of our control.
Tour guides are not responsible for anyone riding their bike in a manner deemed unsafe by the guide.
Tour riders are responsible for the care of the Ebike they are given until it is handed back at the end of the tour.
Self-guided Tours
Anyone hiring bikes who is given a map, route notes or ride description is responsible for ensuring they are able to follow the guidance.
HCL can recommend routes but are not responsible for ensuring the fitness or ability of anyone to complete the ride.
HCL will aim to provide any requested guidance as accurately as possible but cannot be held responsible for any events outside of their control which would cause the route to be altered.
